Events and workshops
Workshops and events provide a site for engagement with the public and a space where designers can achieve engagement with people they would never normally have access to. These events use carefully designed experiences and prototypes to illicit a different set of responses. Design events, workshops and co-design exercises can become important milestones on the design journey.
Workshops enable an articulation of problems by the public in relation to an issue and encourage a different set of responses than other forms of public engagement. They also seek to build trust with communities and establish an ongoing relationship between researchers and participants.
